Mo Faal feels his partnership with Joe Ironside has ‘clicked’ in recent weeks.
Both strikers are now on six goals for the season and were linking up superbly prior to Ironside’s recent injury.
Faal is looking forward to his fellow striker’s return to action, with confidence that more goals are going to follow.
“He’s just a good leader and he leads the line as a real focal point for us,” he said.
“He holds everything up and I like to play off him. Previously before I came here, I was known as the focal point. Working off someone else, I didn’t know if it was going to work out but it’s been smooth since I came in.
“Now, I think we’ve really clicked on and hopefully when he’s back he can crack on and we can score more goals and combine more.”
Faal is also enjoying life working under Rovers boss Grant McCann, who he feels has been good to his word since mapping out his plans in the summer.
“I’ve enjoyed it very much,” he said. “From the moment I first spoke to him on Zoom, he told me his plans and it’s all just lined up. You can get some managers who just say things to get you in but everything he said has lined up with what he said.
“Working hard with Cliff, and Glove and Copps, they’re specialised in strikers and you can see that with me getting goals and results. I’m loving it with the gaffer and all the staff.
“He wanted me to get between the posts more and I’m doing that now. It’s about showing more concentration in the final third. When you’re playing Saturdays and Tuesdays, it’s a lot. I’m getting a lot of opportunities now and I’m finding myself on the end of things so I want to be clinical and more consistent with my finishing.
“That could set me apart from others in the league and obviously get more goals.”
