Officials confirmed for Peterborough United FA Cup tie

30 November 2023

Benjamin Speedie has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Peterborough United in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

The Merseyside official has taken charge of 13 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League One. He has issued 36 yellow cards and three reds across those games.

This will be his second outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game, having taken charge of the 2-1 win at Tranmere Rovers in October. On that night, he dismissed manager Grant McCann from the touchline.

He has previously handled them on six occasions over the last four seasons, with Rovers winning four and losing two.

Speedie will be assisted by Stuart Kane and Anthony Da Costa on Saturday while Jack Bloxham has been assigned fourth official duties.
