Professional development phase lead Frank Sinclair has praised his side’s resilience as they came from behind to win in stoppage time against EFL Youth Alliance League rivals Bradford City.

First-year scholar Oliver Piekarski opened the scoring at the Hoober Homes Elite Performance Centre before Max Adamson marked his first game in over three months with a brace.

Having extended their winning run to three games, the youth team manager was pleased to see the improvements in his squad.

He said: “It was another really good game for us. Both teams were at it and I thought we settled into it quite quickly.

“Games against Bradford are always enjoyable as they always provide a good test and I’ve got a lot of respect for everyone involved over there because the games are always great.

“This game showed we’re getting better and we’re on a nice little run now with the Lincoln and Morecambe wins so I don’t think the boys could’ve responded any better to the FA Youth Cup defeat last month.”

It has been a difficult start to the season for Max Adamson and Oliver Piekarski who have been battling injuries in the early part of the season, but both put on a good display during the Bradford win.

He added: “Oli has worked hard to get himself fit because he has struggled with injuries since the summer which also saw him miss parts of pre-season. He’s put the yards in though and he’s such a great lad to work with and is starting to reap the rewards for his efforts.

“I’m really pleased for Max too because he’s had a tough time with injuries and we’re glad to have him back because of how much he offers us."
