Mo Faal was happy to repay the faith of manager Grant McCann after marking his recall to the starting XI with the opening goal in the win over Crawley Town.
Faal was named among the substitutes at Barrow at the weekend but came off the bench to score, and was selected to start against Crawley.
He revealed an open dialogue with boss McCann has been important as he finds his feet in the Rovers squad.
“Me and the gaffer, we always speak,” he said. “He told me at the weekend that I wasn’t going to start but I know he’s got faith in me.
“I’m glad I could repay him with the goal tonight and the one at the weekend. He’s got my back and I’ve got his so I’m alright with his decisions.
“We have the conversations all the time and I think he’s a great leader and a great manager. I’m delighted to be working under him.”
