Grant McCann praised Rovers' defensive resilience as they returned to winning ways against Grimsby Town.
It may not have been a vintage performance from Rovers in possession, but they defended doggedly which was particularly pleasing for McCann who had been critical of efforts against Salford City earlier in the week.
And it set the stage for Joe Ironside to secure the win from the penalty spot after the returning Kyle Hurst was brought down in the box.
