Joseph Olowu believes a failure to stick to principles led to Rovers’ downfall at Barrow.
Rovers struggled for attacking rhythm throughout the game at the SO Legal Stadium and despite netting through Joe Ironside and Mo Fall, finished empty handed with a 3-2 defeat.
“As a group, we didn’t show what we want to show in terms of how we want to play football and how we want to implement our style,” Olowu said.
“Later on into the game we got caught up in their game of going a bit longer, which is what they enjoy. They eat it up and thrive off that.
“We should have tried to stick to our principles - keeping the ball, inviting them out and exploiting them in certain areas.
“But we didn’t do enough of that.”
