Tommy Rowe believes the manner in which Rovers conceded at Stockport County provided the perfect lesson of how vital concentration will be this season.
Rovers defended superbly for much of the competitive clash at Edgeley Park but were breached when Tanto Olaofe glanced in a late header to secure all three points for the hosts.
“There was quality from both sides and you could see that with the way we pressed the ball probably up to 80 minutes,” Rowe said. “But it’s one of those where if you fall short of those pressing targets that you set, you’re going to get punished.
“We got punished on the outside. It’s one of those things - we were trying to be competitive for 90 minutes and we felt we could get a result. We were confident of it and we were in good form so it’s disappointing to come away with nothing.”
