It was not to be for Rovers as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Salford City at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Despite controlling the game for large periods, Rovers failed to make the pressure count while Salford showed real ruthlessness in front of goal with striker Matt Smith netting a hat trick.
