Ben Close hailed a special moment as his injury time strike at Forest Green Rovers secured a first league win of the season for Rovers.
The midfielder came off the bench for his first appearance of the season following injury and curled into the top corner from distance deep into added time.
Despite his memorable effort, he felt the victory was due to doggedness and resolve from Rovers on the afternoon at the Bolt New Lawn.
“The performances over the last few weeks have deserved better,” Close said.
“I think we rode our luck at times but at others we put our bodies on the line, Louis made some excellent saves and we really dug in.
“Overall we deserved that win on the back of the last three or four performances. To get it in the manner we did in the last minute was a great feeling and thankfully the fans can go happy.”
