Grant McCann believes Rovers are heading into Saturday’s trip to Forest Green Rovers on the back of their best week of training so far this summer.
Rovers visit the New Lawn in search of a first league win of the campaign and McCann is confident his side is in good shape for the test ahead.
He said: “I have to say, and it may be an old cliche, it’s the best I’ve seen the lads train this week.
“I know nothing is won on the training ground but it’s the base of what we want to work from. I’m hoping they can go and put a good performance in on Saturday that will get us the win.
“I think big moments haven’t been on our side so far. I talk about when we’re on top and having a spell, we need to score then. We probably haven’t done that enough this season.
“And when we’re under the cosh, we tend to concede. They’re not two good traits to have and it’s something we need to get better at and build on.
“Performance levels have been high over the last four or five games, which has been pleasing but we want to turn those performances into wins.
