Officials confirmed for Wrexham trip

7 September 2023

Leigh Doughty has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Wrexham on Saturday.

The Lancashire official was appointed to the EFL in 2019 and graduated to the SG2 list of Championship officials in 2020.

Doughty has taken charge of four matches this term, across Sky Bet League Two and the Carabao Cup. He has issued 23 yellow cards and one red.

This will be his only his second outing refereeing a Rovers fixture, having taken charge of the 3-0 win at Tranmere Rovers in February 2020, in which Jacob Ramsey scored a brace on his debut.

Doughty will be assisted by Nigel Lugg and Mark Pottage on Saturday while Scott Simpson has been assigned fourth official duties.
