'Postivity powering Rovers' brilliant run' - Bailey

3 April 2024

Owen Bailey feels positivity within the Rovers camp has been the major driving force behind the side’s brilliant recent form.

Bailey netted the winner in the 1-0 triumph over Wrexham - securing Rovers a fifth straight league victory for the first time in more than seven years.

The run - encompassing just one defeat in 12 matches - has seen a brilliant about turn in form for the club and Bailey admits it is difficult to point the finger at just one thing that has brought about the shift in fortunes.

“Everyone is positive and there’s a real good feeling around the place,” he said.

“Everyone is working hard - not that they weren’t in the first place - but everyone knows what is expected. We’ve added a lot of quality and it just seems to have clicked.

“Hopefully that’ll continue,

“It was so frustrating at the start of the season and I lost count the number of times I had to tell my mates that we were actually a good team that wasn’t quite getting the results.

“I think we’re showing it now and showing what we’re actually like and the levels we can actually hit.

“To be in this position now, picking up wins, is a really good place and hopefully we can stay here.”

The victory over Wrexham saw Rovers dent the title aspirations of the Welsh side but Bailey insists no one will be getting caught up in any significance of the opposition.

He said: “They are right up there and I thought we dominated the game for large spells. It could have been more.

“I was a statement win for fans, if they want to call it that. But for us it was just another three points and that’s all we can concentrate on.”
