Cliff Byrne spoke of his pride at Rovers' effort as they beat Wigan Athletic on penalties to reach the quarter-finals of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
A superb second half performance was capped with Owen Bailey's equaliser after the visitors had taken a first half lead through Charlie Wyke.
And Byrne was pleased with the manner in which Rovers took the game to higher league opposition and secured a last eight spot against Bradford City.
