Carty looking to ensure Rovers benefit from his breakout season

3 January 2024

Conor Carty believes spending 2023 in his native Ireland has accelerated his development - and he is determined to show and continue that during his loan spell with Rovers.

The striker made 41 appearances for St Patrick’s Athletic on loan from Bolton Wanderers in his first true taste of senior football.

And he is looking to ensure Rovers are the ones to benefit from that experience after securing a move from the Trotters for the remainder of the campaign.

“Getting that exposure and playing in front of that many people was something I needed and something I really enjoyed,” he said.

“Going game after game and playing week in, week out, it was really enjoyable. We had the FAI Cup final in front of 43,000 which was a great experience on a stage I really enjoyed being on.

“I came on leaps and bounds and hopefully I’ll be able to show that to the fans here at Doncaster.”

Carty took part in his first training session with Rovers on Wednesday and is eligible to be part of the squad to face Harrogate Town on Saturday.

“Being around the club and the boys, everyone has been great,” he said.

“I just want to play as many games as I can and contribute as much as I can to hopefully start climbing the table again.”
