Ollie Yates has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Wigan Athletic on January 16.
The Staffordshire official has taken charge of 22 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League One and League Two. He has issued 94 yellow cards and six red across those games.
This will be his second outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game having overseen the 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon on November.
He previously handled them on nine occasions over the last eight seasons. Of his ten matches in total, Rovers won five and lost three.
Yates will be assisted by Callum Jones and Darren Williams on Tuesday while Farai Hallam has been assigned fourth official duties.
