Clifton: Big move to Rovers 'felt right'

Harry Clifton says he quickly felt that Rovers was the right club for him - and that was vital in his decision to move down the M180.

The 25-year-old has been with hometown club Grimsby Town for his entire footballing life so departing Blundell Park this summer was no easy choice.

But the good feeling he had about Rovers helped him decide to take a big step in his career.

“I felt that for me to move it had to be right and feel right,” Clifton said. “I got that straight away here and I just want to repay that to the gaffer, the team and the fans to show it was the right decision and why I’m so excited to be here.

‘I just feel like for my career that I needed a bit of a change and a fresh challenge. The conversations I’ve had with the gaffer have got me excited and it just felt right, which is why I’m here.

“I think it’s how you grow as a person, getting out of your comfort zone. I’ve been with Grimsby ten years going into the same training ground. I felt like to grow as a person and help my career as well, I need to go and do that. It will be
