Rovers set for north east friendly double-header

10 June 2024

Rovers will head to the north east for a double-header of friendlies on Saturday, July 20.

The squad will be split for matches against National League North duo Darlington and Spennymoor Town in order to maximise minutes for the players.

Each game will have a different kick-off time to enable Rovers supporters to attend both matches should they wish.

Darlington will host one Rovers side in a 12.30pm kick-off at Blackwell Meadows.

Managed by former Newcastle United and Everton midfielder Steve Watson, Darlington finished comfortably clear of the relegation in National League North.

The game against Spennymoor will kick-off at 3pm at the Brewery Field.

Moors are managed by former Rovers skipper Graeme Lee and narrowly missed out on a place in the play-offs last season.

Both matches will be pay-on-the-gate, with the option for advanced purchases for the Darlington fixture.

Ticketing details for the two games will be released in due course.
