Hakeeb Adelakun says his start to life at Rovers has been everything he could have wished for after scooping the Sky Bet League Two player of the month award.
The forward took the nod from a panel of EFL experts, judging the division's best for February with his haul of three goals and four assists in six matches seeing him claim the prize.
Adelakun joined Rovers in the January window and has played a significant role in the recent upturn in form.
“It’s exactly what I imagined that I’d want to be doing when I first came in here,” he said. “It’s been a great start for me and I just want to keep it going.
“It’s exactly what you want to happen when you join a club, just to get going straight away. It’s been great for me and it’s about continuing that now.
“Working with the gaffer, knowing his ideas, he’s been a massive help for me - as has Cliff.
“Also it’s a great changing room and the lads have helped me settle in so quickly and I’m building relationships. They’re all great to work with.
“I know quite a few of them. I’ve played with Rowey a long time ago, I played with Woody as well and I know a few of the other boys as well. It’s been good.”
