Improvement every week is the goal: Biggins

1 March 2024

Harrison Biggins says there is a determination within the Rovers camp to keep improving as they seek to stretch the positive run of form.

Rovers are five unbeaten in Sky Bet League Two as they prepare to visit Walsall.

And despite the good run, midfielder Biggins insists the group know they have a long way to go to reach the levels to which they are aspiring.

“We know what we’re capable of,” he said. “We know we’ve got a good group of players and we’ve had a lot of players come back from injury so the squad depth is there.

“It’s important we dug in there when things weren’t going quite right and we’re getting our rewards now.

“We’ve had a good run of form but we don’t want to rest on that, we want to keep getting better.

“Spirits are high around the place. That is something we want to continue and get better again, starting on Saturday.

“With the form that Walsall are in, if we were to go there and win - which will be a tough ask but nothing we’re concerned about and certainly able to go and do - it’d be a fantastic feeling.

“It’d set us up for the following game on Tuesday at Bradford but first we’re focused on Saturday.”

Biggins has started Rovers’ last two matches, turning in excellent performances in the heart of midfield.

And his goal is to retain his place for the remainder of the campaign.

He said: “I just want to play as many games as possible. I think there’s 13 games left and I will say I want to play all 13.

“Whether that’s going to happen or not, it’s up to me to knuckle down and keep my shirt.

“Looking towards the weekend, hopefully I’m playing again and I put in a performance that warrants keeping my shirt.”
