Wide range of free activities as Forest Green game as Foundation hosts its Community Day

22 March 2024

Club Doncaster Foundation will showcase their vast array of activity in the city at their Community Day at the fixture against Forest Green Rovers.

As Rovers host Forest Green Rovers followed by the Belles’ clash with Chester-le-Street Town, the Foundation will put on a range of free activities at the Eco-Power Stadium to give supporters an insight into the extent of community outreach work.

Each department within the Foundation will demonstrate their typical weekly activity, with supporters able to take part and potentially win prizes.

The day will feature the following FREE activities, which will all be available from 1:30pm onwards:

  • Climbing wall for children (close to the statue)
  • Youth Zone – sports activities (outside the SMTXtra USA East Stand)
  • Health checks for adults (James Coppinger West Stand)
  • Smoothie bike challenge (Club Doncaster Foundation Family Stand)
  • Club Doncaster Sports College Open Day/facility tour (South East Corner)
  • Military vehicle accompanying our Fit Forces participants (SMTXtra USA East Stand close to the Hospitality Entrance)
  • Food and clothing bank donation point for fans wishing to support local people (South West Corner)

The Foundation will also present the PFA Community Champion award to a player who has provided support within the community throughout the season.

The Premier League Community Captain award will also be presented to a participant or staff member from within the Foundation who has made an outstanding contribution to their club and community.

Foundation chief executive John Davis said: “Today will give us an opportunity to showcase the fantastic work that happens across Doncaster on every day of the week, 365 days a year.

“We get significant support from the owners, Grant, Cliff and the first team squad and it makes a huge difference in our ability to improve people’s lives across the city.

“We also couldn’t deliver our programmes without the key partner support from the Premier League, EFL Trust, Doncaster College, NHS South Yorkshire ICB and Doncaster Council.

“Come see the activities for yourself, meet our fantastic team members, try the activities and learn more about the charity itself and how everything we do, impacts individuals on a regular basis.

“We’ve been looking forward to this fixture and now it’s here, we want to shout about all the fantastic projects we deliver and spread the word to as many fans as possible.”

Club Doncaster Foundation requires your support to continue to carry out their vital work in the community. To donate £5 text CDF to 70085.
