Craig Hicks has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Crewe Alexandra on March 9.
The Surrey official has taken charge of 22 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League One. He has issued 84 yellow cards and four red across those games.
This will be his first outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game but he previously handled them on five occasions stretching back to the 2018/19 season - including Grant McCann’s first game in charge during his previous spell, the 3-2 win at Southend United.
His most recent game involving Rovers was the 1-0 defeat at Stevenage last season. Of the five matches, Rovers won two and lost three.
Hicks will be assisted by Declan Ford and Danny Guest on Saturday while Steven Copeland has been assigned fourth official duties.
