Anthony Backhouse has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Forest Green Rovers on March 23.
The Cumbrian official has taken charge of 19 matches this term, with the majority coming in the Sky Bet Championship. He has issued 89 yellow cards and one red across those games.
This will be his first outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game but he previously handled them on nine occasions since 2017.
His most recent game involving Rovers was the 3-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers on Boxing Day 2022. Of the nine matches, Rovers won just one - the 3-0 win over Southend United during the 2018/19 season.
Backhouse will be assisted by Robert Hyde and Craig Taylor on Saturday while Scott Jackson has been assigned fourth official duties.
