Strong momentum won't take McCann's focus off next test

24 March 2024

Grant McCann will not be getting carried away by Rovers’ recent excellent run of form with the focus purely on the Good Friday trip to Crawley Town.

Rovers stretched their run to one defeat in ten matches, with six wins in that sequence, as they saw off Forest Green Rovers.

It us a run that sees Rovers among the form teams in the division - along with Friday’s hosts Crawley.

And McCann is just happy to see Rovers delivering on his calls for a strong end to the season.

“We just want to carry it on, game after game now, and see where we go to the end of the season.” he said.

“We have a very tough game next week at Crawley so we’ll prepare the boys as best we can and see if we can go and win that one.”

McCann revealed he will take a cautious approach with the fitness of Jack Senior through to the end of the campaign.

“Jack’s just got a little bit of fatigue from the game at Swindon,” he said. “We used precaution and just left him this week,

“We had to bring him back in with James Maxwell being out last week. Jack will be one we just monitor until the end of the season and then get a good pre-season into him to get him back.

“He’s had little problems with his hamstring for a while now. For us, if Jack can get back this season and be ready, then great but if not we’ll probably just try to get him in a good place for next season.”
