Grant McCann says he feels Rovers are only getting better with each passing week as they power towards the end of the season.
The current run of form has seen Rovers beaten just once in their last nine outings, standing them among the division’s best over the last two months.
And McCann says while it has taken time this season for things to come together, his side are trending in the right direction.
“I believe it’s taken a bit longer than we probably anticipated, just to get to get the full buy-in from everyone at the football club,” he said.
“We feel like we’re improving all the time as a team and a squad. We’re working on improvement all the time. I feel like there’s a lot of players in good form, there’s a lot of players that have come back from injury and the squad has looked healthier.
“There’s a lot of factors that have gone into it as well in terms of how we’re performing and why the results have been coming.
“We just want to try to continue it and have a good end to the season and see where we go.”
One of the players to have shown strong form in recent weeks has been James Maxwell, who agreed a new two-year contract with the club in midweek.
“He’s an important part of what we want to do going forward and we feel he is progressing all the time,” McCann said.
“It’s been a stop-start season for him in terms of knocks and niggles that kept him out, particularly in the early part of the season.
“But his form since the turn of the year has been excellent and we’re really happy for him to agree a new deal.”
Maxwell is set to return to the squad for Saturday’s clash with Forest Green Rovers after missing the trip to Swindon Town due to injury.
He will be joined by Joe Ironside and Matthew Craig, who also sat out the win at the County Ground.
