Reece James signed a two-year deal with Rovers in July.
The former Sunderland and Wigan Athletic left-back appeared over 25 times for the Black Cats as they reached the Sky Bet League One play-off final last season.
Previously a youngster at Manchester united, James was loaned out to Carlisle united, Rotherham and Huddersfield before breaking through at Wigan in 2015. While at the Latics, James appeared 22 times in the League One title winning season attracting Sunderland where he was instrumental in the Wearside club's surge to the play-off final.
Defensively strong and reliable on the ball, James has good experience at League One.
