James Coppinger Recalled

28 December 2012

Doncaster Rovers are pleased to announce they are in the process of recalling midfielder James Coppinger from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Subject to the agreement of the Football League, Coppinger will be available for the New Year’s Day clash with South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United.

Having joined Forest on loan in August, James struggled to maintain first team football during his spell at the City Ground making only two league starts and 4 appearances as a substitute.

Manager Dean Saunders has hailed Coppinger’s undoubted ability and sees his return as nothing but positive. His return will bolster Rovers midfield and help Saunders’ squad push towards their goals for the season.

Coppinger will be in attendance at Deepdale on Saturday to support his teammates and will hopefully be back in first team action on January 1st, subject to the Football League agreement.
