Moore: We dropped below our usual levels

10 February 2021

Darren Moore felt his side dropped below their usual high standards in the defeat to Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers were beaten 3-1 at Highbury which ended a run of five straight wins, and the manager was disappointed with the performance.

He said: “It was disappointing to lose the game and in the manner that we did, we started the game well and got a goal but couldn’t build on it.

“The players were below par and they know we can’t concede the goals we did and expect to win games of football.

“The lads aren’t happy and realise that they’re much better than what they showed, but that can happen over the course of a season.”

With the next game for Rovers coming up against Sunderland on Saturday, Moore is backing his side to recover quickly from the setback.

He added: “You face different tests in this division every week and we’ve picked up some good results recently, and now we have to react to a disappointing defeat.

“We’ve just got to look ourselves as a group and recognise that we weren’t at the levels we have been recently.”
