Wright pleased for Jones

14 March 2021

Joe Wright says he was pleased for Louis Jones to keep his first EFL clean sheet in the 0-0 draw against Northampton.

Wright was part of a back-line which produced a solid display at the Keepmoat Stadium, and believes Jones’ recent performances have been impressive.

“It’s great for Louis to get a clean sheet and he’s been really good since coming in behind myself and Tom.

“I’ve known him for a long time and he’s trained with us every day, having that understanding has helped him now he’s in the team.

“The past couple of seasons his game has come on massively, he’s worked hard off the field and he’s developed really well.”

With injuries starting to have an effect within the squad, Wright is working hard to maintain his own fitness at a busy stage of the season.

He added: “We’ve been unfortunate with injuries in the past couple of weeks and it’s about everyone stepping up now.

“It’s a season like no other and we’re doing more recovery to make sure we all stay fit for every fixture.

“I’ve had my own injuries over the years and I know how frustrating it is to be out so I have invested a lot in getting my body right.”
