DRFC Academy inductees

12 May 2017

Eight Doncaster Rovers academy players have been offered first year scholarships by academy manager Kieran Scarff.

Rieves Boocock joined the club in 2009 and has progressed through the youth academy structure, while Cameron Barnet has been at Rovers since the age of 10 and will be heading into his eighth year with the club.

Myron Gibbons and Cameron Baldock-Smith have already made two and six appearances in the u18s side respectively.

The other four scholars are Cameron Foulkes, Anthony Greaves, Brandon Horton and Declan Ogley and all players have signed two year scholarships.

“We are really pleased with the level of potential these individuals have shown over the past few months,” said Scarff.

“They have a real opportunity to develop at a football club that provides a genuine pathway towards the first team.

“We are looking forward to working with all these players and looking to fulfil their potential.”

Doncaster Rovers have also expressed an interest in returning to the Development League for the 2017/18 campaign, subject to acceptance from the EFL.

Kieran is looking forward to playing competitive games against fellow EFL sides and says it’s a perfect opportunity for the youngsters of Doncaster Rovers to develop.

“The opportunity to play regular and competitive fixtures will only support the development of our younger players,” said Scarff.

"I firmly believe this additional stage in their development will increase their chances of establishing themselves as future first team regulars.”
