Forrester Seeks Change in Fortunes

6 April 2015

Harry Forrester is looking to exorcise the demons of a missed penalty when Rovers travel to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Tuesday.

The mercurial winger saw his spot kick saved against the ten man Blades in November and Nigel Clough’s men went on to steel an unlikely three points in courtesy of Jamie Murphy’s wonder strike.

Following Friday’s loss versus Bradford City on Good Friday, Forrester is aiming for redemption.

“We had a chance to win the [United] game and I missed that chance and two minutes later they scored,”said a reflective Forrester whose form has noticeably improved as a result.

“It seemed to be the feeling at the time that we weren't quite ready weren't quite there and we've turned it around and now we expect to win more and expect to get results.

“We’re putting pressure on ourselves to perform better and expect better performances from everyone so in a way its maybe revenge but we aren't looking at that, were a different bunch of lads with a different mentality.”

Forrester played 68 minutes of the defeat to the Bantams and recently acquired a bizarre Doncaster Rovers first; the only player for the club to score in three consecutive games away from home as a substitute.

“I’m surprised they've been in the league for 4 years,”he said of United, however.

“You expect them to go up. It is an expectancy as they're a huge club but it’s now the norm that they've not quite made it and they’ll be under pressure, more pressure than us.

“We’re quite happy to be chasing like we are and we’ll just see.”

The 24 year old midfielder was quite pragmatic on his season as a whole and saw parallels in the fluctuations in form between the team and himself.

“I suppose I've scored a few good goals buts it’s been really up and down for myself personally and it has for the club,”he said.

“A few months ago we were miles off the play offs and you could only dream of it, but we've clawed our way up and it’s on our hands.

“There are still games to go so people will hopefully remember the end of the season and not the beginning.”
