Mitchell Wants More

Full back Lund says the graft starts now for him.

Mitchell Lund says he needs to keep up the hard work if he is to retain his place ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to MK Dons.

The full back made his first start in league football against Fleetwood Town on Saturday and, while happy with a clean sheet, felt Rovers could have sewn up three points.

“It was quite a positive reaction [in the dressing room after] because we went for it in the second half and we know what we have to do next time to get the win,” said the 19 year old.

“I found out in the team meeting that I was starting so I prepared myself mentally and was just buzzing to get out there and make my league debut.

“I think [the home form] is an area we need to improve and get more wins. At home, there's a bit more expected of you but we're trying our hardest every time.”

Lund has flourished in the table topping Development side and has gone from being coached by Rob Jones to lining up alongside him for the first team.

“He’s a good role model and I look up to him,” Lund said.

“We need to make sure we go out and do everything right to win the [Development] league. I need to keep my hard work up and see where it takes me.

“I’ve learnt a lot from James Coppinger, Rob Jones, Andy Butler and everyone in the first team squad to be fair.

“I’ve been in training keeping my head down and working hard and its starting to pay off.”
