PREVIEW: DRFC v Fleetwood

28 August 2015

Saturday 29th August 2015 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster Rovers could include new loan signing Cameron Stewart in their ranks when they play their second of three home games in a week on Saturday.

Fleetwood Town are the opposition for Doncaster who were happy to confirm their latest acquisition as the skilful 24 year old former Manchester United and Hull City winger.

Buoyed by an encouraging 90 minute performance in which they held Stewart’s parent club Ipswich Town for 90 minutes in the League Cup in midweek, Paul Dickov and his team will be looking to put their maiden league win on the board.

Rovers eventually bowed out 4-1 after extra time to the Tractor Boys.

A comprehensive run down of previous meetings between Rovers and the Cod Army are hard to come by considering the pair had never met prior to last season.

Graham Alexander’s side took the spoils on the Fylde coast in a 3-1 win back in October 2014 – Nathan Tyson with the sole Rovers goal.

The teams reconvened in April 2015 and played out a bore draw as it was apparent neither would achieve the unlikely aim of a play-off spot. Ultimately Fleetwood finished 6 points off the top six, Doncaster eight.

TEAM NEWS: Harry Forrester, Luke McCullough and Nathan Tyson will miss out through injury. The game will come too soon for both Paul Keegan and Dany N’Guessan. New loan signing Cameron Stewart could be given his chance.
