Youth team striker Chris Whincop is recovering after having an operation on a broken leg he suffered during the team’s 2-1 win over Notts County on Saturday.
Head of Youth Paul Wilson confirmed that Chris will be totally non weight bearing for at least six weeks before being re-assessed; ‘Chris has had an operation to pin and plate his leg, hopefully he will be allowed back home at some point today.
'He will be totally non weight bearing for at least six week after which he will return to the hospital to be re-assessed.
‘The injury was a total accident and not the result of a bad tackle, the game was played in good spirit by both sets of players.
‘Along with the coaching staff, the rest of the players would like to wish Chris a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.’
