Rovers supporters are invited to join players in donating Christmas treats for those less well off in our area.
A foodbank collection point is staged outside the club shop at every home game, as part of the DRFCFans4Foodbank initiative, with volunteers there to accept donations.
And given the festive season there is a specific request for treats, in addition to usual food items, for those families who cannot afford such items.
Rovers players and staff have purchased selection boxes using money raised during a staff collection, which will be handed over on Saturday morning.
Jim Duffy, one of the Fans4Foodbank volunteers, said: “As it's Christmas we will be collecting chocolate and selection boxes to try and put a smile on some young children's faces.
“Obviously sweets will be in addition to our normal donations of tinned and packaged food stuff. Please, please do your best to contribute where you can.”
The foodbank collection will be in place between the Belle Vue Bar and Club Shop prior to Saturday’s game against Scunthorpe United and the visit of Oxford United the following Saturday.
Fans can also leave donations at the Club Doncaster Box Office or Club Shop on non-matchdays.
