Josh Sims believes he can add more excitement to the Rovers side after joining on loan from Premier League side Southampton.
The 23-year-old arrived on deadline day and hopes his direct style will suit the way Darren Moore wants to play.
He said: “I’m an out and out winger, I’ve played on the right or left at Southampton and I like to drive at players and create chances.
“I like to think the way I play is exciting and fairly direct, hopefully I can show that once I get some time on the pitch.
“I’m very quick and when I was younger I relied on my pace, but when you’re coming up against top defenders you have to find more ways of getting the better of them.”
Having spent time on loan in the MLS with New York Red Bulls last season, Sims says that experience has made him a better player both on and off the pitch.
He added: “It was unfortunate with the circumstances that I came back a bit earlier than expected from America, but now I’ve got a good opportunity to play some football.
“It’s definitely different but it was a good experience going out there and challenging myself on and off the field.
“It was tough moving away to a different country but I think it’s something that will stand me in good stead in the rest of my career.”
